Studio Showcase: Sharon (2024)

If you love crafting, have a handy and supportive husband, and have a collection of stamp supplies, your craft room might look similar to our most recent Studio Showcase winner, Sharon. She is a long-time crafter who has transformed her basem*nt into her dream space for her and her friends to enjoy creating cards. She credits the ability to have her craft room to her biggest supporter and encourager, her husband.

"My husband, Al, is one of my biggest supporters, and when we built our new home three years ago, he encouraged me to design the basem*nt as my stamping room for myself and fellow stampers to come for stamp class."

When Sharon started stamping, it was hard to find rubber stamps, but she was fortunate enough to find Stampin' Up! and not long after became an SU! Demonstrator. After becoming a demonstrator, she attended a stamping event and discovered Stamp-n-Storage.

“I’ve been crafting for almost 50 years, for 32 of those years I’ve found my true love of crafting, stamping cards, and scrapbooking.”

Now, Sharon stamps away in a craft room full of her supplies and maintains organization using Stamp-n-Storage products and other storage solutions.

My craft space is a large portion of our basem*nt. In a corner of my stamp room, I have a wrap-around desk. Everything I need is on my desk or close to it. Along my back wall is my cardstock. Next is the Stamp-n-Storage 12x12 Paper Holders (6 stacked) all labeled, and I used the 12x12 Storage Pockets to label each pack of Stampin' Up! papers.

Sharon has positioned her supplies to be easily accessible and close to where she creates. She uses the 12x12 Paper Holders to keep her Stampin’ Up! paper organized and organized. Along with that setup, she uses the Super Combo Holder to keep her inks, markers, and refills organized, all 3 of them together in one place! On top of the Super Combo Holder is a Ribbon Shelf.

We love how Sharon organized her ribbon by color. All her cream and white ribbons are stored in the ribbon holder and present a lovely monochromatic look. Her colorful ribbons are stored in another ribbon holder her husband made, creating a rainbow of color. Her creativity shows the different ways you can organize your supplies.

To keep paper punches organized and easily accessible, Sharon has implemented a thematic organizational system. She sorts her punches into categories: scenery, animals, hearts, flowers, shapes, Christmas, and labels. Each punch is neatly stored in a Punch Holder, allowing Sharon to find the punch she needs.

The Paper Crates are a blessing. I can store a lot of my SU papers. I have 28 years' worth of Stampin’ Up!® DSP and now I have 3 double Paper Crates with rolling bases to store all of it.

With many years of crafting experience, Sharon had to create a system to keep her paper organized so that she knew what she had and how she could find it.

I have an album with samples of each pack of DSP with all the information for that pack of paper and where the paper is located, which makes it easy with the folders for the crates that have label holders which I have numbered.

Sharon has organized her craft room for her craft projects, but also to host friends for crafting sessions.

The rest of my stamp room has room for 5 tables for stampers and a cabinet for die cutting. I have a back room for extra storage that holds all of my old stamp sets, again all organized.

Sharon shared that the one tip she would give any crafter is,

...the more organized you are, the more cards you can make in a day. I don't spend hours looking for what I need.

An organized craft room is a game-changer for any crafter, whether you are just starting or have been crafting for years. When your supplies are neatly arranged and easily accessible, you can quickly find exactly what you need, no matter how extensive your collection is. This means you can spend more time on what you love—creating—and less time searching for tools or materials. With everything in its place, you can unleash your creativity without the frustration of clutter, making your crafting experience more enjoyable and productive. Plus, an orderly space can inspire new ideas and projects, keeping your creative juices flowing.
