Recently read all three of Ed Markhams FBI thrillers. I think each one was excellent. Interesting, new ideas and very exciting. Not much sex, which is ok, but a lot of sick criminal ideas exposed.

WOW!! This is a definite must read for those of you needing an exciting and nail biting thriller!!
David and his dad Martin are terrific FBI characters (very believable). I also have to mention the in-depth and complex background of the suspects...really great job! The story line is excellent and unique with some unexpected twists! I will absolutely read more from Ed Markham...very talented writer!!

Even better than the first book -- original plot, well-written (as Founders' Keeper was), just a great book. You'll get sucked in!

Great Father & Son FBI Team

This is the first time I’ve read this new-to-me author and his FBI procedural series. I enjoyed this quick-read for its well-developed characters, especially the son and father FBI agent-protagonists who are part of the serial crimes unit.
The plot is well-done with good twists, although police procedural aficionados might anticipate some twists and may unearth the secrets of this whodunnit. The pace is more leisurely than many American police procedurals, but it was suitable for this book.
This author needs an editor to correct punctuation, misspellings, hom*onyms, bad/wrong word choices, and swapping character names. Several errors stopped my reading, and at intervals I had to re-read to get started again. However, I will look for other books in this otherwise entertaining series.

This is a 5 for a well developed and delivered plot. It just needs a good editor. There are times when description becomes a little odd - a "deep and resinous voice" - and there are occasional spelling errors.

The relationship between David and Martin is well crafted and adds interest. The plot keeps you guessing and has some neat turns. There is a confidence about this novel that is engaging and it improves on Founders Keepers which is a good read in its own right. I'm looking forward to the next one.

A thriller masterpiece

Ed Markham is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors in the crime/thriller genre. His Agent Yerxa books are well written, and the relationship he is cultivating between the two agents (father and son) is a fantastic part of the series. The cases are also interesting and keep you coming back for more. I recommend this series to anyone who is a fan of James Patterson or John Sanford.

Good crime drama

Another good book in the Yerxa series. I'm enjoying these and will read the rest. This is a self published author. He keeps the price low and this means high value. If you like crime dramas I highly recommend.

Great thriller

As good if not better than his first. Don’t usually read murder mysteries but I really like the father and son duo in these. Worth the read.

Great read

Mr. Markham's books are well written, fast reads with plenty of drama. As good as Harlen Coben in my opinion.

This is book 2 in this thriller series by Ed Markham. He does not disappoint in any way. Again we find David and his father working together to stop a serial murder. This time the murderer is committing crimes similar to ones investigated decades before by Martin. Martin is sure he arrested the correct man for the crime, even though the man never admitted his guilt.

In this story, the murderer holds his victims for a while before killing them. David and Martin are on a time schedule to find this person before he kills his current hostage.

I love how the author not only tells the story from the vantage of David and Martin but also gives us the story of the hostage.

The author has created another well written page turner!

This was a very interesting book to read. Always something of interest on each page . About a man who was in Vietnam and when he came home it kinda messed up his mind. Young boys were starting to turn up missing and never found. A FBI man and his dad who decided to help him also - he used to be a FBI man but retired. It was a tough case to solve. Just when they think they have the right man -bam its not him. When you get closer to the ending wow the things your gonna read. If you like interesting murder mysteries this is definitely one your gonna want to read.

Good story, page turner

This one keeps you guessing till the end, even though you 'know' who the killer is fairly early on. Characters could use a bit more development but that may come in the other books in the series. My only complaint is rather minor: There are a few misused words--the car breaks instead of brakes, that sort of thing. But there are only a few of these and though they cause a little ripple in your reading, they are not so distracting as to ruin the book. I'll read more by this author.

This could have been really good. All the plot ideas are there, but they were so clumsy in their execution. Overuse of adjectives you wouldn't usually use in speech, throughout the book I have been thinking, this is not a natural born writer. The book really didn't feel natural for me.

Somebody's voice: Deep and resinous? I haven't heard this, maybe deep and resonant?

Anyway. Just too stilted and overthought for my taste. Great story though, hence 2.

Another great book from Ed Markham

After reading Founders Keeper, I looked forward to reading the second book in this series. I was not disappointed. The father and son relationship is very entertaining. Ed has a knack for twists and turns much like David Baldacci. The book is just the right length. Great job, Ed!

Fantastic sequel to Markham's first thriller. Father & son crime solving team reunite again for another thriller. A master at developing characters and attention to every detail as if you were part of the story. Can't wait for his next one.

Enjoyed

I really enjoy the relationship between the father and his son. The story is something that I hope no one in my family has to go through, even though I know there are really people like this out there. We live in a very scary time.

Pretty good story, needs an editor or just to learn that something being in plain sight is easily seen with the eyes, no matter the site where it rests, so you should use the first spelling rather than the second.
