Try claiming a repayment again off the site. Left menu column, click on "Request a repayment" and fill in the amount and bank details.

I haven't had a problem with repayments coming through this year but, last year, I had to do this in several cases.

I'm trying to remember if that online rebate request has ever worked first time....and I don't think it has once in literally dozens of attempts. And to make it more annoying they have now issued directions that you should wait for four weeks before enquiring about where it has gone. And when you do, they don't seem to have any record of the repayment request. And I've just checked a £2K repayment request which Ive requested online 3 times and by phone twice over a 2 month period....still nothing. Not as bad as the CIS rebate fiasco, but heading in the same direction. Outrageous really.

Four weeks ?

I wouldn't wait four weeks. I'd apply every few days. If HMRC want me to stop applying, I will do. Just as soon as my money arrives.

I've requested it again and will wait to see if it's updated on Monday as its still the same as before it's just rubbish ! Cheers guys

Suggest you call HMRC

In virtually all cases where a repayment that has been requested online but has failed to materialise, I have discovered that there is something odd about my client's settings at HMRC which has inhibited the repayment and thus requires human intervention. I therefore think it would be worth asking someone at HMRC to look at the account and seem if there is a reason the repayment might not have been made. In one case it was 2p of NI that had been waved over 15 years ago and in another case, it was that a 'no repayment' button had been set for no apparent reason. In such cases asking for a repayment online will unfortunately never have the desired effect.

another 4 weeks

I have been told today it will be 4 weeks today that I might receive my repayment as its in routine checks..... since November??????

why cant they just simplyfy it

I don't get why it just doesn't show ive asked for a repayment and that its no yet used in the allocated payment section..... nothing in the repayment section so I cant see if its even being processed........ raaaaa

update

received a letter today saying they received my request for a refund on December 29th .....they are unable to send me my refund right now as they are checking my financial position with other parts of hrmc ....is that just the normal security checks??? ive used the ask a question section on the SA online but they told me I had it accepted on fed 14th 2015....... which was then changed to sorry we were looking at last year.......good times

contacted them again yesterday to be told id have to wait longer..... sa page online still says I can ask for a request for repayment but no one I talk to will ask me why it doesn't show ive asked for a repayment.....it updated on the 1/2/14 for last years and was paid on the 4/2/14 but tht was when I asked for a repayment back in 10/14 ..... anyone else having the same issues???

£2K rebate

I gave up an my £2K rebate...it took so long, that it rolled onto this January and so most of it will be owed back to HMRC. They had no records of any of the 4 online attempts.

And all the angry HMRC letters still pour in once a week from the debt recovery unit within a couple of weeks of tax being owed.
