This was so much fun! Thanks for letting me be the color commentator!Artificial Intelligence is an area that has been around for a long time but only really coming into the public domain with hands on tools that are accessible. The accelerated development of many branches of AI, particularly Generative AI, is exciting because it allows for new forms of creativity and information flow. The issue at large is that there are little to no controls on how products are developed. There is no “standard”. AI has become the new blanket term for many things which are not created equal. It’s important to stay vigilant when a vendor claims they use AI and to ensure your organization has a governance structure that supports both quality, safety, and effectiveness.

#Epic UGM 2023. For the second time in as many years, Gold Stars Level 10.Ambulatory Operations, Acute Operations, IT&S, Clinical Informatics and many other important operational teams working together to put the patient at the center. Working together to build a system that gives our patients a voice. These are not features or functions Epic requires you to take. We chose this. On top of all the daily operations and day to day tasks. On top of the implementations we’re currently doing. On top of the the double upgrades we need to prepare for. Now we’re on top of the mountain, again. We chose to pursue excellence.Of the 660+ recommended features, our organization chose to implement 94% that truly make an impact. Some were things we’re doing already. Others were things we had to adjust to make the system work better. Many forced us to look at how we do things altogether and change for the better. Of the 400+ Epic clients worldwide, we’re only 1 of 18 to accomplish this in 2023.This trophy represents the hours of research, meetings, hard conversations, build, and testing (and retesting) to make sure we got it right. Some features directly impact our patients (think Mychart, Telehealth, Interoperability, Patient Finance, Scheduling), while others improve the workflows of our clinicians and staff in the modules they work in. Make no mistake. This one was just as hard as the first one. It’s the outcomes that keep us focused. We’ll be back in ‘24 to collect our trophy and pins again and have it serve as a reminder that hard work pays off and team work makes the dream work.To all of the IT teams and Operational Champions and Epic staff that worked hard to achieve this, we applaude your effort and thank you for your dedication.Goldie 2023 will be back in New Jersey soon.#rwjbh #ugm2023 #goldstars10
