Compared to Asia, the MSW management in Africa is in the early stage of development except in a few cities. Landfill gas recovery and power generation is already being practiced in very few cities. Engineered landfill sites are also being developed.
We have visited MSW incineration power plants which were erected more than 2 decades ago in Africa. But unfortunately these projects failed, for many reason. Presently a few incineration based power plants are being developed in Africa. The lessons learnt in MSW management from Asia can be applied in Africa.
We have experience in developing MSW projects and already done some development works in Africa.
